The Girl the Prince Could Not Ignore
Long before the palace knew her name, she was just another poor girl in the village.
Her name was Uli.
Every morning before the sun rose, Uli walked through the dusty paths of the village carrying a heavy bundle of firewood on her head. Her clothes were simple, her slippers nearly torn, and her life was far from easy.
But there was one thing nobody could ignore.
Her beauty.
Even in poverty, Uli carried herself with quiet dignity. The women at the river often whispered when she passed.
“Look at her,” one woman said softly. “A face like that wasted in poverty.”
Another laughed.
“Beauty alone does not marry a prince.”
Uli heard their words, but she never responded. Poverty had taught her something important a long time ago.
